If you are driving from Jasper be prepared for Jasper National Park at its finest. See what some of our Facebook fans were saying this summer (Drive from Jasper) Enjoy a scenic drive to the Overlander Mountain Lodge. Along the way you can expect to see more than 1300 plant species in the park. Discover the 20,000 diverse types of insects and spiders, 277 types of birds, 16 amphibian species and 40 types of fish. There are also 68 species of mammals that roam the wildlife refuge. Take some time to visit the Miette Hot Springs which are heated geothermally before reaching the Overlander Mountain Lodge.

The Overlander Mountain Lodge is nestled in the hillside, just outside the East Jasper National Park Gates. Although we are a scenic 35 minutes (50KM) drive to the town site of Jasper, we love that we are removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown Jasper and the crowded tourist attractions. There are many beautiful things to see along the way and there is a very good chance you will see many different forms of wildlife! Make sure you have your camera ready!
Head West on the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) for approximately 3 hours.
After passing the town of Hinton, continue West for approximately 15 minutes. Once you pass the Jasper Gates Resort (on your left), we are just around the bend.
The Overlander Mountain Lodge is located on the right (North) side of the highway. If you hit the Jasper National Park Gates, You've gone about 2 minutes too far!
Total Driving Time: Approximately 3 hours
From Calgary via Banff, Lake Louise, and Columbia Icefields
Head West on the Trans Canada Highway (Highway 1).
Continue through Banff and Lake Louise. Approximately 10 minutes after Lake Louise, turn North along Highway 93 and continue for approximately 2.5 hours.
Don't forget to stop at the beautiful Columbia Icefields along your way!
When you reach Jasper, head East on the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) and continue for 30 minutes.
After exiting the Jasper National Park Gates, The Overlander Mountain Lodge will be located on the left (North) side of the Highway. Approximately 2 minutes.
